At The Movies wraps with bumper 726,000 metro viewers

margaret and david at the moviesMargaret Pomeranz and David Stratton’s final episode of At The Movies was watched by 726,000 metro viewers, winning its 9.30pm timeslot for the ABC and helping the ABC to an audience share of 14.5 per cent.

The audience is one of the biggest for the show in recent years, wining its timeslot. When it was announced in September that the show was wrapping up for good, 512,000 viewers tuned in for the next episode.

In the 9.30pm timeslot it out-rated Nine’s The Big Bang Theory which was watched by 499,000 and Ten’s NCIS: Los Angeles which pulled an audience of 420,000.

Seven won the night with a share of 20.1 per cent while Nine had a share of 19.8 per cent and Ten had a share of 13.5 per cent.

Meanwhile on Ten Recipe to Riches crowned Michael Cainero the grand final winner, with his pork, apple and cinnamon sausages out-selling six other final products.

Airing from 7.30pm the show was watched by 487,000, down on last week’s audience of 549,000. It was down on the launch episode’s audience of 561,000 and down on the grand final of season one which pulled an audience of 504,000.

In its timeslot it was out-rated by Seven’s Under the Hammer which was watched by 533,000 viewers, Nine’s A Current Affair which had an audience of 932,000 and The ABC’s 7.30 which grabbed an audience of 670,000.

The most-watched non-news show was Nine’s coverage of the First Test Australia vs India, with session three watched by 843,000 viewers. Session one had been watched by 518,000 while session two had an audience of 637,000.

Also on Nine, a repeat of RBT at 8pm pulled an audience of 815,000 with Kalgoorlie Cops at 8.30pm watched by 779,000. Three repeat episodes of The Big Bang Theory from 9pm were watched by 674,000, 539,000 and 499,000 viewers respectively.

Seven’s Coles-funded Guide to a Classic Christmas featuring Curtis Stone at 8pm pulled an audience of 489,000.

In news, Nine won the night with 1.104m tuning in from 6pm compared to Seven News’ audience of 1.097m. Seven News and Today Tonight at 6.30pm was watched by 1.065m while Nine News at 6.30pm had an audience of 1.041m. Nine News at 6pm was the most watched show across all the demographics.
