Nine’s had a brilliant idea. How about a reality cooking competition? And why not throw in some inter-generational action while you’re at it?
While it’s hard to say what may have inspired this sudden interest in all things culinary and family, Dr Mumbo can think of 1.6m reasons why the network will be giving this one a whirl. Sponsored by Coles, The Great Aussie Cook Off sees families of four competing for the top prize.
However, there does appear to be one major difference to Ten’s MasterChef. TV Tonight reports that The Great Aussie Cook Off is slated for daytime rather than prime time.

How hilarious! Nine rips off and reworks Ten’s concept then ever so self consciously back down and pits it against Ready Steady Cook instead of Master/Gen! Ten and Seven have “gotta love it”!
