A new group of stars as the NAB Mini Legends return in first outing via TBWA

NAB’s Mini Legends have returned, just in time for the Finals, this time around featuring a new set of some of the AFL and AFLW’s biggest stars.

This is the sixth year Mini Legends, part of NAB’s partnership with the league, championing the NAB AFL Auskick program, and the first campaign via TBWA since it was appointed as the bank’s creative agency in 2021.

This year, the ad features Aliir Aliir, Madison Prespakis, Daniel Rich, Nina Morrison, and Aaron Naughton in the yearly spot highlighting some of the game’s most loved stars.

NAB executive group marketing, Suzana Ristevski said: “The NAB Mini Legends campaign never fails to bring a smile to your face, and perfectly sums up the joy that AFL brings to all of us.”

“We’re proud to deliver the class of ‘22, recruits who we hope will inspire the future generation of AFL and AFLW legends.”

NAB said this year’s campaign shows that when you’re a kid, no matter what level you are playing at, every moment playing footy “feels like the biggest and most exciting thing in the world”.

TBWA\Melbourne added: “We’ve long admired the NAB Mini Legends work and it’s our privilege this year to continue the story.”

NAB’s Mini Legends campaign first ran in 2017, coming via previous creative agency Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, and has subsequently become a regular fixture in NAB’s marketing output. NAB and the AFL also extended its partnership through until 2028 this year.

The spot launched on Friday during Channel 7’s coverage of the Brisbane Lions vs Melbourne Demons game. It is running across TV, social, live sport integrations, OOH, digital video and more.

Last year, while shifting its creative account, NAB retained GroupM’s Mindshare as its media agency of record.
