Boland leaves Sunrise on top

Adam Boland has bowed out as boss of Seven’s Sunrise with one last big ratings win on his last day.

The show’s Hawaii special drew an audience of 431,000 on Thursday morning, beating Nine rival Today which rated 319,000, according to preliminary overnight ratings from OzTam.

Menawhile, the final of Seven’s Beauty and the Geek Australia was the only entertainment show to make an impact in primetime, rating 1.224m for the winner announcement.  

The final episode of the series if Getway rated just under 900,000 for Nine, while Ten’s double episodes of Rush averaged 672,000 and 688,000.

Meanwhile, the first day of The Ashes averaged 601,000 for Nine.
