Air New Zealand has appointed communications agency Alt/Shift to its Australian public relations account following a competitive pitch.

Alt/Shift will be responsible for the airline’s local consumer-focused PR initiatives, adding to its growing client roster with recent appointments including Carsales, Metricon Homes and Officeworks.

Elly Hewitt, national managing director, at Alt/Shift said: “Air New Zealand is a brand we’ve admired from afar for many years and we are thrilled to be appointed as their Australian PR agency of record. Air New Zealand’s iconic tongue-in-cheek tone of voice paired with their ongoing appetite for creatively-led earned media campaigns, gives us scope to deliver entertaining campaigns to get travel-loving Aussies back to international travel.”

Andie Crawford, general manager Sydney, at Alt/Shift said: “With international borders opening, the appetite for travel has never been stronger for Australian consumers and we are pumped to be working with this dream brand. The time is ripe for us to re-energise the travel sector with our team of brilliant creatives, strategists and earned media specialists, getting Australians excited about what international travel has in-store this year. To be working with the world’s safest airline is an absolute honour and we cannot wait to help connect Air New Zealand with Aussie travelers, taking them to New Zealand and beyond.”
