ARIA Charts: Slim Shady denies Stray Kids #1 debut

Eminem’s The Death Of Slim Shady album has held the top spot on the ARIA Albums chart for a second week, denying South Korean boy band Stray Kids a #1 debut.

UK band and triple j faves Glass Animals also entered high this week with their fourth studio album — and first in four years — I Love You So F***ing Much debuting at #5.

Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts jumped back into the Top 10, up from 17 to #8 in the album’s 46th week on the chart.

Slightly lower, American indie pop band TV Girl entered at #13 with their 2016 album, Who Really Cares, and #19 with their 2014 debut album, French Exit; both entries due to reissues, and due to the power of TikTok.

The ARIA Singles chart is a lot more static than the Albums chart, with Shabooey sticking to the top for a third-straight week (after being blocked for 11 weeks by Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, and Post Malone). Carpenter’s Espresso slips to #3, with Billie Eilish’s Birds Of A Feather jumping to #2 – its highest placement to date.

There were no new releases in Top 50, with a number of classic reentries in the lower reaches: Iris by Goo Goo Dolls at #43, Mr Brightside by The Killers at #48, and Dreams by Fleetwood Mac at #49.
