Audi finds its replacement for Warburton in marketing lead

Audi Australia has appointed Nick Reid as its new general manager, marketing, filling the role that has been vacant since Nikki Warburton’s departure in July last year.

Reid is currently national marketing and product manager for Volkswagen Group Australia.

In his role, he will lead marketing communications, customer marketing, digital and product planning functions for the auto brand.

Paul Sansom, director of Audi Australia and MD of Volkswagen Group Australia said Reid has an “impressive track record of success within the industry, and especially within the Volkswagen Group”.

“Nick has played a crucial role in the overwhelming success of Volkswagen Commercial vehicles over most of the last decade and I am excited to see him drive continued growth for Audi in the years ahead.”

Reid added that he is thrilled to be taking on the opportunity to “shape the future of Audi in Australia”, as he called it one of the most innovative brands in market.

“Premium mobility is evolving at a rapid rate and Audi is playing a leading role in this transition. I look forward to working with the incredible Audi team to bring this exciting story to life for Australians.”

Warburton stood down from the role in July after three years with the brand. She is yet to take up a new role, despite several vacant CMO roles available across the market currently.

He joined the Volkswagen Group in 2013 from Kia, and has since led marketing and product planning roles across the company since.

The brand said that during his time with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Reid’s team has “delivered multiple award-winning 360-degree marketing campaigns, including ‘Walkinshaw Station’ (2021), ‘Parked’ (2019) and ‘Too Powerful for You’ (2018)”.

He will move across to Audi in the “coming weeks”, relieving Sansom of the duties, which he has been covering in the interim.
