Foxtel takes animated approach to Olympics

Content agency Contently and animation house Sixty40 have created a series of six one minute animations for Foxtel to fill in viewers on the Olympic events of BMX, triathlon, race walking, swimming, basketball & sailing.

It’s the third time the companies have been used to educate viewers about sports, following similar efforts for the Vancouver winter Olympics and the Delhi Commonwealth Games.

Sixty40 director, Mark Simpson, said: “2012 is the year of the info graphic, so for this campaign we’ve combined Venn diagrams, bar charts, bizarre facts & blatantly made up stuff with nuanced character animation.”

The campaign supports Foxtel’s eight channel coverage of the Olympics which kicks off on July 25.

The animations have been voiced by Triple M Sydney presenter Gus Worland while writers included former Chaser Charles Firth.
