Hugh Jackman Australia’s favourite celebrity according to The Encore Score, with full results to be unveiled at Mumbrella360 tomorrow

Encore Score Barometer 2015

Hugh Jackman has retained his spot as Australia’s most beloved star while jailed entertainer Rolf Harris has replaced KiisFM DJ Kyle Sandilands as the least popular according to the 2015 Encore Score, which is set be unveiled at Mumbrella360 tomorrow.

Wolverine actor Jackman claimed the top spot in the 2012 Encore Score results, holding onto the position in 2013, while Sandilands was the most-disliked celebrity for both years.

The Project’s Waleed Aly and actress Mandy McElhinny, best known to many as AAMI’s Rhonda, have both seen a serious jump in recognition in the most recent survey, while Kyle Sandilands and Matthew Newtown posted marked improvements in their popularity.

Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli and Amanda Keller, who are both appearing at Mumbrella360 tomorrow as part of the It’s a Love Thing session, are also stars on the rise.

Launched in 2012, the Encore Score is a survey of the public designed to gauge the popularity of Australian personalities. Using a list of more than 1,000 local and international names that have graced Australian screens, radio, magazines and billboards, the Encore Score asks 3,000 everyday people which of these names are their most or least favourite.

More insights from the data will be shared tomorrow with M&C Saatchi Sydney ECD Ben Welsh joining Encore Score curator Brooke Hemphill to discuss the importance of casting the right celeb for the job.

Welsh will discuss the recent casting of Nicole Kidman for Etihad as well as last year’s Optus campaign which featured Josh Thomas.

Following the Mumbrella360 unveiling, celebrities, brand managers, agents and advertisers will be able to purchase the data for the first time. Register your advance interest here.
