Johnson & Johnson appoints Omnicom Group to its consolidated account

Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health Australia and New Zealand has appointed Omnicom Group as its lead agency following a competitive holding group pitch.

The appointment sees Johnson & Johnson’s media account return to Omnicom. The account was held by UM after it won the account from OMD in 2015.

Johnson & Johnson has consolidated its agency accounts with Omnicom Group

The account will see the formation of a bespoke team which will draw on talent from across Omnicom Australia and New Zealand and sit within DDB Group.

The team will be providing creative, media, digital, public relations, healthcare, social and shopper marketing. This will mean DDB Sydney will now have media capabilities in the building.

DDB Sydney already worked on the creative for Johnson & Johnson’s Neutrogena, Aveeno, Johnson’s Baby, Aveeno Baby and Carefree.

The appointment spans Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health Australia and New Zealand’s portfolio of brands, adding brands such as Codral, Nicorette and Listerine to Omnicom’s remit.

Nicorette’s creative was previously executed by JWT (now Wunderman Thompson).

Meanwhile, DDB’s Mango was already the company’s public relations agency.

Update – Monday 23rd March 4:41pm

Wunderman Thompson provided a statement to Mumbrella: “The team at Wunderman Thompson is incredibly proud of the creative work executed with Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health ANZ over the past 15+ years. We wish J&J well as it moves to a new consolidated model of service provision and thank their team for the successful partnership.”
