Lexus recruits famous author James Patterson to review car and voice new ad
Author James Patterson has written a review for the new Lexus LC 500, which forms the basis of Lexus’ new commercial.
Created by M&C Saatchi, the one-minute spots open with Patterson saying “at first glance the Lexus LC 500 is clearly a beast, waiting to be unleashed upon the road”.
Throughout his narration Patterson lists the model’s new features including its start button, engine and interior.
He explains the car as “part Beethoven part Hendirx”.
“At first I wondered why Lexus chose me to review the LC 500. But after one drive, I realise a car like no other, needs a review like no other. I hope it’s as breathtaking as any of my best-selling thrillers, because the LC 500 deserves all that and more,” Patterson said in a statement.
Michael Canning, M&C Saatchi ECD, said: “A collaboration between Lexus and James Patterson was the perfect way to bring the experience of the LC to life, as both a brand and an author who place such high importance on their respective crafts.”
Vin Naidoo, Lexus Australia corporate manager of marketing operations, said: “The new LC coupe signals a new chapter for the Lexus brand as we evolve beyond a luxury automotive manufacturer to a global luxury lifestyle brand.”
Just curious – where was the ad filmed? Many thanks.
