The full program for the 2023 Mumbrella CommsCon has been released, with speakers from Sefiani, Poem and Weber Shandwick Australia added to the line-up.

In 2021, IPG sold its majority stake in Weber Shandwick and Jack Morton Australia to Graney, who was group managing director of both agencies at the time.

In this session, Graney will be joined by current managing director of the two agencies, Vinny Panchal, where they will share brief insights into the transition journey the agencies faced in 2021. They will touch on the challenges and learnings, along with the observations made throughout the process.

Graney and Panchal will also explain the complexities of laying the foundation for a new agency model in 2022 coming out of COVID and into independence.

Also speaking at CommsCon is Sefiani Communications’ managing director, Mandy Galmes and employee communications lead, Therese Raft.

In a session titled ‘Creating Brand Belonging: Rethinking communications for inclusion, integrity and impact’, the two will talk delegates through how businesses and leaders should communicate with stakeholders to foster inclusion and create belonging.

They will also explore whether organisations should focus on internal concerns or external societal concerns, which stakeholders they should give preference to, and how they can provide safe spaces for people to communicate and openly share their views.

Galmes and Raft will further provide case study examples of how local and global organisations are creating brand belonging and practical frameworks to help clarify and prioritise the comms approach.

Finally, joining the Mumbrella CommsCon line-up is Matt Holmes, co-founder and ECD at Poem.
