2:07pm  – There’s been some new creative today – here’s the latest from Cenovis which sees the brand look at the reasons why adults try to lead a healthy and active lifestyle. Full campaign details here.

1:35pm –  Tsoccerooshe Socceroos have revealed what slogan will be emblazoned on the team bus taking the squad around Brazil during next months’ FIFA World Cup and it doesn’t shy away from the Kangaroo references.

The publicly voted slogan is: “Socceroos: Hopping Our Way Into History”.

1:23pm – It’s been a busy hour here at Mumbrella House. We’ve got a full wrap of this morning’s court proceedings between Seven and Ten over programmer John Stephens and his decision not to leave one to join the other and the reaction of media buyers to last night’s budget.

12:11pm – We’ve finally laid our sticky mits on the front page of The Age from today, and it’s another cartoon showing Joe Hockey and a range of sharp objects. What could they be driving at?

Answers For Adam 11:27am – In this week’s Answers for Adam Adam Ferrier asks whether the belt-tightening budget passed down last night will prompt the haves to do more for the have nots.

11:13am – There are fears the measures to cut $25m from Screen Australia’s budget over four years could put some Australian production jobs on the line, with the organisation looking at its funding plans. Full story is here.

10:34am – If you don’t want Dr Mumbo to write about you, don’t bitch about it in a public cafe, you never know who’s earwigging.

10:15am – TV ratings are in, and budget drama proved a winner for ABC’s 7.30, with a special edition beating Ten’s Masterchef into fourth in its timeslot. However, it was The Voice and the unlikely couple of Joanna Lumley and Will.i.am which clinched a commanding win for Nine on the night.

10:00am – The John Stephens case (see 8:19am) is set to get underway an the snappers have been gathering waiting for the arrival of some potentially interesting witnesses, including several TV execs who may be called from Ten and Seven. We’ll have the latest from court this morning.

9:16am – In the first part of our budget coverage we wrap what the cuts mean for the ABC and SBS, with the government shaving 1 per cent off their funding, but telling them not to cut programming or services. The Australia Network has also been scrapped.

8:43 – There’s been a big news event, so Dr Mumbo takes a stroll through the front pages of today’s papers. Be warned, if you’re not a fan of cartoons of Joe Hockey, you’re probably not going to like them much.

8:19am – Today also sees the hotly anticipated hearing between Seven and Ten over programmer John Stephens and his decision not to leave one to join the other. There’s a tantalising teaser in the Australian Financial Review today (behind a paywall).
