Nova tops Brisbane radio ratings as Triple M continues decline

Nova has regained the top spot in the latest Brisbane GfK radio ratings survey, which covers July 11 to September 18, after last survey saw a three-way tie between the top three stations.

Survey six saw Nova 106.9 jump 1.5 points to get 11.7% of the market, which was also the biggest change for overall network share. Coming in second for overall share was ARN’s 4KQ with 10.9%, up 0.7 points.

For breakfast, Nova’s Ash, Kip and Lutsy with Susie O’Neil increased 1.8 points to 13.1%, widening the lead over 4KQ breakfast offering. 4KQ’s Laurel, Gary & Mark did reach second place for breakfast, with 12% of the share and up 0.9 points.

Triple M’s Marto and Margaux continued its decline in numbers, dropping two percentage points from 9.9% to 7.9%. The show lost Nick Cody to FoxFM earlier this year, although initially, that did not appear to affect ratings.

It was an positive result for Nova’s drive show, Kate, Tim and Joel, which saw an increase of 2.2 points to 15.2%. Last survey saw the same show drop by 1.5 points.

Its closest competitor for drive was B105’s national drive show Carrie and Tommy, which dropped to 9.6%. Triple M’s Molloy, which had 8.7%, was beaten to third place by Triple J, which saw a 0.3 point increase to 9%.
