The announcement:

Sydney, December 7, 2010: Ogilvy & Mather Sydney continues to expand its creative credentials, this week announcing the hire of Jakub Szymanski and Alex Stainton as a senior creative team.

Most recently at DDB Sydney, Szymanski and Stainton will join recently appointed Creative Director Andrew Ostrom, and Executive Creative Director Chris Ford who moved to Ogilvy Sydney in July. The pair have spent the past four years working on leading brands such as McDonald’s, Volkswagen, +Telstra, and News Limited, with award show wins including Cannes, Clio, AWARD, The Effies, Adfest, and The One Show.

ECD Chris Ford said of the hires: “I believe the job of an agency and any good creative team is to solve a client’s business problems in smart and surprising ways. These guys get that. I’m also excited by their enthusiasm, it’s nice to see two young guys passionate about building a great book rather than spending all day working up anonymous replies to blog posts.”

Szymanski and Stainton will report to Ostrom, a prospect that the pair are keenly anticipating: “This feels like exactly the right time to be arriving at the agency, now it’s up to us to get stuck in and let the work do the talking.”

Ogilvy Sydney is part of STW Group, Australia’s leading marketing content and communications services groups.
