PHD continues leadership drive with appointment of new group business director

PHD Australia has appointed Alison Jones to lead its Unilever and Nine Entertainment Co teams, in the role of group business director, a month after shaking up its executive leadership structure.

Jones joins the Omnicom Media Group agency from Publicis Media, where she was also group business director, working on its client Platform GSK.

In her new role, Jones will report directly in to Stephanie Douglas-Neal, newly appointed managing director in the PHD Sydney office.  Kathryn Furnari previously led the Unilever account.

“I’m looking forward to being part of such an exciting, well respected agency, with a leadership team that I have long admired. On a personal level, I am excited to get started and solidify an already strong team, as well as doing what I love most, which is building strong relationships with our client partners to drive business growth and innovation at such a pivotal moment in history,” said Jones.

Douglas-Neal added: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with Ali again. She is smart, fun, creative and an incredible client leader. She is the best person to drive the relationship forward into 2022 with some of our key clients. I’m also confident she is the best person to inspire our team to learn, grow and have fun doing it.”

Prior to three years at Publicis Media, Jones spent seven years at Zenith Media, working on clients including Gucci, Swarovski, Nestle and 20th Century Fox.

She will now work closely with Unilever and Nine’s marketing teams to “elevate relationships and deliver strong business results for both businesses”.

In the number of leadership changes announced by PHD CEO Mark Jarrett last month, included managing director Stuart Bailey being elevated to chief operating officer, while other national managing director Lucy Formosa Morgan departed the agency. Simon Lawson was also appointed MD of the Melbourne office.
