Seven’s All Saints goes out on a high as Nine’s ‘Seinfeld reunion’ tumbles
A combination of the All Saints farewell episode and nearly two million viewers for Packed To The Rafters took Seven to a ratings landslide on Tuesday night while Nine’s much criticised out-of-sequence airing of another episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm as “Seinfeld: The Reunion” was another miss.
After twelve seasons on air, 1.5 million viewers tuned in to farewell Seven’s All Saints at 9.30pm, according to preliminary OzTam results.
The night was Seven’s from 6pm with the channel winning all time slots except for 7pm which went to Two And A Half Men on Nine with an audience of 1.2m. Seven’s channel share was a whopping 35 per cent for the night.
Packed To The Rafters almost cracked the 2m viewer mark with shows leading up to it, RSPCA Animal Rescue and Last Chance Surgery pulling in 1.5m a piece.
At Nine, part two of the s0-called Seinfeld Reunion flopped with only 596,000 viewers tuning in at 9pm. Nine had attempted to cash in on interest in the cast of Seinfeld being brought back together in a plot strand of Curb Your Enthusiasm, which stars former Seinfeld creator Larry David as himself.
Although Nine’s digital channel Go is still on the sixth series of Curb Your Enthusiasm, last week Nine showed third episode of series seven, which rated 755,000. Last night, the channel jumped forward again to the sixth episode, although the decision to show it was too late to catch most TV guides.
Nine’s poor night saw it as the third most watched channel behind Ten. Ten’s NCIS at 8.30pm rated well with an audience just shy of 1.4 million. However, when the digital audiences of Nine’s Go and Ten’s opne were added to the totals, Nine’s network share was just ahead of Ten’s.
Tuesday night’s ratings share:
- Seven: 35%
- Ten: 21.6%
- Nine: 21.4%
- ABC1: 13%
- SBS1: 3.6%
- GO!: 2.7%
- ABC2: 1.7%
- ONE: o.7%
- SBS2: 0.3%
Tuesday’s top 15 shows:
- Packed to the Rafters – Seven 2m
- RSPCA Animal Rescue – Seven 1.5m
- All Saints – Seven 1.5m
- Last Chance Surgery – Seven 1.5m
- NCIS – Ten 1.4m
- Seven News – Seven 1.3m
- Today Tonight – Seven 1.2m
- 20 to 1 – Nine 1.2m
- Two and a Half Men – 7:00pm – Nine 1.2m
- A Current Affair – Nine 1.2m

- Lie To Me – Ten 0.974m

With all the evidence showing that people would rather watch countless repeats of Two and a half men, you would think that the brains who put the programmes to air at Channel Seven would take the hint and drop Home and Away.
After all All Saints was still rating!!!!!
