Sian Whitnall becomes OMD Australia’s chief digital officer

OMD Australia has appointed Sian Whitnall as its chief digital officer.

Whitnall returned to OMD last year to head the Sydney office’s digital team after two years with Ikon where she was head of digital amplification and trading.

In her new role, Whitnall, who moved to Australia in 2013 to join OMD Sydney as interactive director, will be joining the agency’s National Executive Team, reporting directly to CEO Aimee Buchanan.

Buchanan said of the appointment, “Sian has made a significant impact to our clients’ work and our digital product. Sian embodies the OMD ambition of driving performance for our clients, always done with integrity.

“We are thrilled to see her step into the Chief Digital Officer role, continuing to elevate our capability in digital, data and technology.”

Whitnall said of her appointment, “I’m looking forward to building on the strong reputation that OMD has and continuing the positive momentum in the agency. Data and technology is at the core of everything we do at OMD and I’m excited to take this to the next level for our clients, partners and people.”

Whitnall’s appointment is effective immediately.
