Starcom makes Graeme Wood’s role – national head of futures and product – redundant
Publicis media agency Starcom has made Graeme Wood’s role of national head of futures and product redundant.
Wood joined the agency in February 2017 as head of strategy from m2m, where he was head of strategy. A year ago, he was promoted to national head of futures and product, a role that saw him lead Australia’s first smart home study as part of a partnership with Visa and Seven West Media last year.
The project involved Starcom, which calls itself the ‘human experience company’, entering four families’ private spaces, converting them into ‘smart’ homes, and monitoring the results in a bid to imagine what Australian homes could look like in 2023, and how people would interact with brands within them.
Wood took to LinkedIn to announce the redundancy and seek his next opportunity.
“After an inspiring and eventful three years, I’m posting the bittersweet news that Starcom has made my role redundant,” Wood wrote.
“I’ve worked with some great people, great brands, and great opportunities within Starcom and Publicis, but I’m now looking forward to some really exciting conversations about what happens next.”
Mumbrella asked Starcom whether further roles were impacted, and, if so, how many. Starcom did not respond to that request for comment.
