Ten Daily adds Mamamia’s Valentina Todoroska and SBS’ Nick Bhasin to editorial lineup
Ten has announced two new senior hires for its digital platform Ten Daily. Valentina Todoroska will take up the role of lifestyle editor, effective immediately, and Nick Bhasin will begin as views editor as of June 26.
Todoroska joins from Mamamia where she was managing editor, and Bhasin from SBS where he was an entertainment editor, writer and podcaster. Prior to that, he was the editor of Foxtel magazine.
Ten Daily recently revealed its first figures since joining the Nielsen Digital Content Ratings, posting a unique audience of 716,073 for April 2019, a week after its first birthday. In May the site reported 941,877 unique visits – a 32% increase on the month prior.
Ten Daily executive editor Mel Cornford said the new hires would position the platform well for further growth in its second year.
“Ten Daily continues to smash goals each month. And now, to be celebrating our highest audience result in May off the back of our first birthday milestone is the icing on the cake,” said Cornford.
“The addition of Valentina and Nick to our talented editorial team puts us in an even stronger position for year two – it’s onwards and upwards for Ten Daily.”
Joining Mamamia in 2014 as a site producer, Todoroska held several positions on her journey to managing editor, including evening editor, morning editor, deputy head of news and deputy editor.
She took the role of managing editor after managing director Kylie Rogers departed to join AFL as commercial director.
Todoroska said she is excited to be joining the Ten Daily platform in a time of growth and looked forward to continuing its trajectory.
“I’m thrilled to be leading Ten Daily’s lifestyle vertical as I have been watching the site steadily grow over the last year and I’m excited to be a part of such a highly regarded and dynamic editorial team,” said Todoroska.
Todoroska’s exit from the company comes as Clare Stephens was recently appointed editor while executive editor Leigh Campbell leaves for maternity leave. Jessie Stephens was also recently promoted to the role of associate editor.
In his role, Bhasin will manage Ten Daily’s network of editorial contributors. His career has seen him spend five years as an editor and writer at OK Magazine and work across various international media outlets including In Touch Weekly and The New York Times.
He said he looked forward to shaping the future of opinion on the Ten Daily platform.
“I have been very impressed with what the views vertical has accomplished so far – especially the quality of writing and the variety of its contributors. I couldn’t be more excited about the chance to shape its future as part of the Ten Daily team.”
