TV Wrap: The Ashes 5th Test airs to 881K metro viewers as Seven wins week

Seven’s Fifth Test of The Ashes won entertainment on Sunday, while the cricket match also won all three key advertising demos.

The sports event aired to a metro audience of 881,000, while the game was viewed by 1.47 million viewers nationally. Seven also won the night and the week.

Next in non-sport entertainment was Ten’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here which pulled in a metro audience of 569,000.

Nine’s 60 Minutes aired to 406,000 metro viewers, while an episode of The Project on Ten brought in 349,000

The #1 program on Sunday was Seven News which aired to 1.092 million metro viewers, while Nine News on Sunday had 869,000 metro viewers.

As mentioned, Seven won the night, taking an overall network share of 36.3 over Nine’s 22.4%, while Ten had an 18.6% share, and the ABC took a 14.6% share.

Seven also won the primary channel share, and the top-rating multi-channel on Sunday was 7Mate with a share of 5.7%.

Seven also took the week ending 15 January with a network share of 29.6% over Nine’s 26.5%, while Ten took 19.2%, and the ABC had a 15.2% share.

Seven also managed to win the primary channel share for the week, with a 21% share ahead of Nine’s 17.9%. The top multi-channel for the week was 7TWO on 3.5%

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 9 January, Seven News was the #1 program nationally across linear, with 1.698 million viewers, including 21,000 on BVOD and an uplift of 1%.

The program with the biggest uplift however was an episode of Ten’s FBI with an uplift of 23% and had a total of 440,000 viewers overall, and BVOD audience of 14,000 nationally.
