Uber hires new head of communications Peta Fitzgerald
Peta Fitzgerald has been appointed as head of communications for Uber in Australia and New Zealand.
Fitzgerald’s appointment follows the departure of previous director of communications, Michelle Wood, who has now joined News Corp as head of executive communications.
Fitzgerald joins Uber from Allianz
Fitzgerald joins from Allianz, where she spent the last two years as senior manager of corporate communications.
She was previously a speechwriter and communications advisor to the Vice Chancellor of UNSW, and in government relations and communications for the University of Wollongong.
Fitzgerald told Mumbrella: “I am incredibly excited to join the Uber team. Uber is not only an iconic brand but it’s a company that is transforming our cities and towns and redefining how we move, eat and work. I look forward to working with our stakeholders across Australia and New Zealand as we continue this journey.”
The head of communications role has been previously held by Cara Mygind, who exited the company after four months.
