EzyFlix to offer movie downloads from major Hollywood studios

Craig White - Access Digital EntertainmentOnline service Ezyflix.tv says it will be the first Australian company to be able to offer viewers the ability to download movies from all of the major Hollywood studios.

The company says it has signed content deals with all the major Hollywood studios and distributors.

Access Digital Entertainment, which launched EzyFlix.tv in May, said it has now signed all the significant Hollywood studios including: 2oth Century Fox, NBCUniversal, Paramount Pictures, Roadshow Films, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, The Walt Disney Company and Warner Bros.

Craig White, CEO of Access Digital Entertainment said: “The deals open the door to thousands of the very latest movies and popular TV shows – from affordable season passes for episodic TV programs through to the latest big movie titles.”

Access Digital Entertainment said all major Hollywood Studios will be represented from launch with a growing number of new release and back catalogue titles coming from each studio in each consecutive month thereafter .  It also noted there would be the addition of “mini majors’ and smaller independent distributors coming through the library as well.

While other rivals have been criticised for not having a sufficient offering, EzyFlix.tv said it was excited about what the deals would mean.

“We can’t speak for others securing deals,” said White. “However it is fair to say that all major Hollywood studios were very positive and excited from the outset of discussions that EzyFlix.tv will offer both Video on Demand, and Download to Own, which is not a service offered by Foxtel, Telstra and Fetch for example.”

The IPTV provider said there was a “healthy investment planned”  to promote the content deals and that it’s vice president of digital media Julia Salter would be leading the marketing strategy.  “It will be similar  to the marketing initiatives that  studio’s themselves employ to drive awareness and engagement of new releases,” said White.

Access Digital Entertainment declined to specify  which media they would be using to market the content deals.
