‘Alright we get it. You’re good at swimming’: Yorkshire Tea launch cheeky campaign after Aussie olympians take home gold

The UK’s best-loved brew, Yorkshire Tea, has launched a playful out-of-home campaign highlighting the lighthearted rivalry the UK has with Australia.

After the Australian swimming team secured 18 Olympic medals across the swimming events, compared to their Great Britain counterpoints, who secured only five, Yorkshire Tea erected billboards acknowledging the defeat.

The billboards read: ‘Alright, we get it. You’re good at swimming’ after the Aussie team took home 7 Gold, 8 Silver and 3 Bronze medals compared to 1 Gold and 4 Silver won by UK swimmers.

Australia boasts a rich history at the Olympics, having competed and won medals at each of the 29 editions of the modern Summer Games to date.

With over two-thirds of Australia’s 557 medals over the years won in swimming, it is classed as the nation’s best Olympic sport.

Zeno Group and Nunn Media Sydney were behind the tongue-in-cheek campaign, launched through PR, experiential, social, DOOH, and office sampling.

Nunn Media and oOh!media’s innovation and creative hub POLY developed the bespoke dynamic out of home copy scheduler to deliver the ultimate contextual relevance at scale.

Founded in 1886, Yorkshire Tea has been crowned the UK’s favourite tea brand time and time again, most recently reaffirmed in new data from TonerGiant. PG Tips came in second, and Pukka Tea in third place.
