Clemenger BBDO Melbourne hires Helen James as ECD for Myer

Clemenger BBDO has appointed Helen James to the newly created role of executive creative director for Myer.

James will lead Myer’s in-house creative team

In her new role, James will work out of Myer’s office and will be responsible for leading the in-house creative department and communications for Myer.

James joins the Clemenger’s Myer team following a return from maternity leave however during her career, she has worked at agencies including BMF and GPY&R and across brands including Disney, Virgin, Hyundai, Optus and Ikea.

Simon Lamplough, managing director of Clemenger@Myer said James had a “track record of creating best-in-class, transformative work for leading retailers”.

“Her leadership and digital creative expertise will be pivotal as we continue working with Myer on its ongoing brand transformation,” he said.

Commenting on her appointment, James said she was looking forward to getting her “feet under the desk”.

“Retail is in my blood, so to have the opportunity to work with the team at Myer as it continues on its journey of retail innovation is incredibly exciting,” she said.

Clemenger BBDO Melbourne won the Myer account in 2014, after a one-year pitch and more recently won Myer’s digital account through its new bespoke offering LogicalMagic.
