Fremantle Media creative director Beth Hart set to join ITV Studios

ITV Studios Australia has recruited Fremantle Media creative director, Beth Hart, as head of content, replacing Ben Ulm.

Ulm, who joined the production company in 2014, is moving into the newly created role of head of factual and reality.

Hart replaces Ulm who is moving into a new role, to focus on the factual and reality genres.

Hart, who commences her new role on September 1, has worked across executive producer roles on various entertainment shows in the UK and Australia.

Most recently, Hart worked at Fremantle Media Australia, joining in 2015 as director of television content before moving into her current role as creative director.

Previously Hart was a senior executive producer on UK’s The X Factor, and has also worked in the UK across programs including Hell’s Kitchen, The Apprentice, Love Islands and I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!

Locally, she has overseen The Great Australian Bake Off, The Farmer Wants a Wife, Dancing with the Stars, Celebrity Apprentice and Grand Designs.

David Mott, CEO and managing director at ITV Studios Australia, said Hart’s experience was “second to none.”

“ITV Studios Australia now has the largest diverse slate of new and returning series across all broadcasters, ranging from big entertainment formats such as The Voice, I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!, Hell’s Kitchen through to the hugely successful The Chase Australia, the recently announced CRAM, Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell and Keeping Australia Safe with exciting new commissioned formats yet to be announced.

“Beth is the perfect choice to oversee these shows and I am thrilled she has accepted the position.”

Mott said Ulm’s experience will help grow ITV Studios’ portfolio of programming within the factual and reality genre, through shows such as Keeping Australia Safe.  He noted Ulm would continue to play a “pivotal role” in Australia’s I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!

Hart said she was thrilled to be working on the variety of shows the production company has to offer.

“Making television is what I love to do and I am proud to be able to oversee the current slate of programming. Alongside David and the team I can’t wait to continue to grow the company in the future.”
