J. Walter Thompson wins Subway creative duties

J. Walter Thompson has been appointed creative agency of record for Subway Restaurants.

The win will see J. Walter Thompson responsible for all of Subway’s communications, strategy and brand evaluation, as well as creative positioning, digital engagement, social and CRM.

J. Walter Thompson will replace Ripe Solutions as Subway’s creative agency of record.

Paul Everson, J. Walter Thompson Sydney’s general manager, said the new appointment will use the “full breadth” of the agency’s offering.

“Working across the scope of capability will allow our entire team to immerse themselves in the Subway brand and its values, while supporting communications platforms for Subway across Australia and New Zealand,” Everson said.

Subway’s senior marketing manager, Kate Brody said J. Walter Thompson’s expertise and structure suited the needs of the brand.

“J. Walter Thompson is not just a creative agency, but a broad team with digital credentials, strong strategic skills and capabilities that run across our entire communications requirements.

“Teamed with a strong cultural fit, we are confident this relationship will result in real benefits for our Australian and New Zealand business,” Brody said.

The brand will commence work immediately.

J. Walter Thompson’s latest win is the follows on from the news they had won the Vodafone account in March.

Other clients include Parkinson’s NSW, Banana Boat and Kellogg’s.
