Roadshow’s King Arthur: Legend of the Sword featuring Charlie Hunnam and Jude Law has earned $2.326m across 406 in its first weekend at the box office.
The fanatsy film over took last weekend’s box office winner Alien: Covenant which slipped to number two as it pulled in $1.981m across 316 screens, taking its total earnings to $7.150m.
According to weekend box office figures from the Motion Picture Distributors Association of Australia, Guardians of the Galaxy remains in third position brining in $1.907m.
Its total box office earning to date is now $29.591m.

Meanwhile, Fox’s Snatched which has had mixed reviews fell from number two to number five as it aired across 316 screens managing $1.624m.
