Married at First Sight helps Nine win ratings week, while Ten struggles with 9.8% share
Married at First Sight has helped Nine to a weekly ratings win as the reality TV program took out the top four spots on the ratings ladder.
Nine won the ratings week with a 22.8% overall audience share, followed closely by Seven’s 21.4% share.
Ten was a long way behind its commercial free-to-air rivals as it only managed a main channel share of 9.8%.
Meanwhile, the ABC finished the week with a 12.6% share while SBS managed a 3.8% share.
According to figures from OzTAM, Monday night’s episode of Married at First Sight, which was the program’s highest rating episode to date, was the most watched show of the week as 1.297m metro viewers tuned in.
Sunday night’s episode was the second most watched program of the with with 1.274m viewers, followed by Wednesday and Tuesday’s episodes.
Seven’s most watched program for the week was Sunday’s episode of My Kitchen Rules, which attracted a metro audience of 1.046m.
Ten’s reality series I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here was its most watched program for the week.
In the Broadcaster Video On Demand (BVOD) rankings, Married at First Sight currently holds the top 12 spots. This week, episode eight broke the Australian record for the fastest growing BVOD show in seven days.
The record was previously held by Ten’s The Bachelor.
In the 25-54 and 16-39 demographics, Nine’s Married at First Sight saw success again as it was the most watched program, beating Seven’s My Kitchen Rules.
Nine also managed to beat its competitors with the largest overall audience share in the key advertising demographics 25-54 and 16-39.
