August 2, 2011
Nova 100 announced a new partnership with the Victoria Racing Club (VRC) as official FM radio partner for the 2011 Melbourne Cup Carnival.
One of the most highly anticipated events in Melbourne, Nova 100 will capture all the excitement in the lead up to the Melbourne Cup Carnival and the four feature race days – AAMI Victoria Derby Day (29 October), Emirates Melbourne Cup Day (1 November), Crown Oaks Day (3 November) and Emirates Stakes Day (5 November).
Nova 100 will give away hundreds of tickets to the Flemington race days and will reflect on air the party atmosphere of the biggest events on the racing calendar, throughout the entire Melbourne Cup Carnival. Hughesy and Kate will also give away a table to listeners for the Flemington Spring Fashion Lunch on Thursday 1 September.
Nova 100’s Hughesy and Kate will again hold their annual Crown Oaks Day outside broadcast on Thursday 3 November at a local hotel. Kicking off Ladies’ Day, 150 listeners will enjoy a champagne breakfast and a racing themed morning before being transported and provided with free entry to Crown Oaks Day at Flemington.
For the first time Nova 100 will host a stunning marquee in The Banks Precinct at Flemington, the hottest place to be seen during the carnival, with hospitality and live entertainment including the Potbelleez and top DJs on Emirates Melbourne Cup Day. Entry to the marquee can only be secured by winning tickets on Nova 100.
Nova 100’s announcers, including Kelli Paun and Dylan Lewis, will broadcast live during the day from the Nova Marquee in The Banks Precinct for the four Carnival race days, and Nova’s national Drive show, Fitzy & Wippa, will broadcast live on Emirates Melbourne Cup Day from 4pm to 7pm.
Nova 100’s new partnership with the VRC’s 2011 Melbourne Cup Carnival complements the station’s commitment to Melbourne’s major events including a long history with the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival, FM radio partner for Australian Open 2010 and 2011 and a two year relationship with Mt Buller.
