The announcement:

The New Zealand face of Internet Radio operation Pandora has been announced today with the appointment of Melanie Reece to the role of Sales Director for the brand’s local operations in New Zealand.

Reece is the first local appointment for the multinational company since launching officially in Australia and New Zealand in December 2012 and will play an integral role in building the local profile of the brand to
bring free, personalised streaming radio to New Zealanders.

“Melanie’s broad experience is exactly what we need to extend our reach in New Zealand. In hiring such a well-known and respected member of the industry to run our local operation, we are taking the next step towards our goal introducing clients and brands to our incredibly diverse and highly engaged audience in New Zealand” Pandora Managing Director for ANZ, Jane Huxley.

Reece brings twenty years experience leading some of the most integrated media and content driven projects in the market. Joining the team from MediaWorks NZ where she held the position of General Manager of Integration, Reece was responsible for managing a team of talented content producers and branded entertainment experts in market-leading integrated campaigns. It is this extensive experience in driving sales growth as well as her proven success in promotion of branded content – which includes NZ’s most socialised television event in history (X Factor NZ), that Reece brings with great passion and enthusiasm to her new role.

“I am beyond excited to be joining Jane and the team at Pandora,” says Reece. “The art of discovering new music has totally evolved and my role at Pandora is going to be firmly set on reaching out to New Zealanders to introduce them to a new way of listening to music that they will love – from a local and international stage. It’s the core of what Pandora offers, and I’m looking forward to working with agencies and brands to understand where the opportunities lie.”
