Samsung drops other agencies in favour of a consolidated account with CHE Proximity

Clemenger Group has won a consolidated account for Samsung, including its media and creative.

CHE Proximity will be handling the account on behalf of the Clemenger Group, with the remit also encompassing platform, data, customer experience and social.

Samsung has consolidated its accounts with Clemenger Group

Mumbrella understands the media account is worth between $60 and $70 million.

In November, Mumbrella revealed that the media and creative accounts were out to pitch, with the Clemenger Group, M&C Saatchi and Bohemia, and the incumbent Publicis Groupe all competing for the account.

Samsung’s creative account was previously serviced by Publicis’ Leo Burnett,  in a long-standing relationship. The media account was held by Starcom.

We Are Social has also held a place on the global roster for Samsung, however, Mumbrella understands that the agency’s local remit will cease with the appointment of the Clemenger Group.

Samsung’s public relations account will remain with Edelman.

In early 2019, CHE Proximity won the digital account for Samsung. Mumbrella understands the expansion of the agency’s remit will require the recruitment of an additional 70 people.

Mumbrella has contacted Clemenger Group, Samsung, We Are Social, Leo Burnett and Starcom for comment.

The appointment follows a successful 2019 for CHE Proximity, winning the creative account for IKEA and the consolidated account for Flybuys in August, joining the creative roster for eBay in June. The agency also won the creative accounts for Natural Gas and Aussie Home Loans.
