Steve Yurisich the latest Dentsu pick-up, joining Merkle as chief growth officer

Dentsu’s Merkle has appointed Steve Yurisich as chief growth officer across the ANZ region, following the commencement of new CEO, John Riccio this month.

Yurisich joins Merkle from Accenture Interactive, where he was also chief growth officer across the region, leading both the Industry and Experience Architect teams at the consultancy. This hire comes as the latest in a string of executive hires by Dentsu, including Chris Bower as Dentsu Solutions CEO, Kirsty Muddle as Creative CEO and David Halter chief strategy and growth officer for the group.

Yurisich, the latest of Dentsu’s pick-ups

CEO of Dentsu ANZ, Angela Tangas said: “With Steve’s track record of driving large scale digital transformation and meaningful growth for clients by fusing creativity, strategy and technology, joining our team will enhance how we empower brands to create distinctively better customer experiences as the leading Customer Experience Transformation partner.”

She added that Yurisich has a passion for creating positive workplace culture by leading and growing diverse teams focused on “great client outcomes”, and that Dentsu is excited by the positive impact he will bring.

Yurisich himself added: “I believe the ANZ market is at an inflection point and clients are able to build distinct competitive advantage through differentiated customer experiences that deliver on their brand promise. I am thrilled to be joining such a dynamic and talented team and am excited to work with our clients to do some amazing things”

Yurisich’s experience includes leading digital strategy and delivery, as well as fronting digital transformations for clients across a range of markets and industries. At Merkle, his remit includes developing and executing strategies and frameworks necessary to strengthen net new and organic growth at scale, partnerships, industry programs and how Merkle goes to market with its marketing activities.

He will formally join Merkle in March.

Last week, Kirsty Muddle joined the Mumbrellacast to discuss her new role and the market position Dentsu is looking to grow into in Australia under Tangas’ leadership.
