TV Wrap: Sunday gives MAFS, Survivor and Idol biggest metro audiences since launch night
Nine’s Married at First Sight (MAFS) was the top program on Sunday with 933,000 metro viewers. Thanks to the show, Nine also claimed an overall win in the week ending 11 February.
The evening also brought good news for Ten’s Australian Survivor and Seven’s Australian Idol, both seeing their biggest metro crowds since launch as the former aired to 498,000 and the latter 453,000.
Following MAFS in entertainment was Death in Paradise on ABC, with 588,000 metro viewers. The network’s Vera was sandwiched in between Australian Survivor and Australian Idol, pulling in 491,000 metro viewers.
The #1 news program on Sunday was Seven News with 785,000 metro viewers, followed by Nine News with 744,000, and ABC News with 609,000.
Nine was the top network last night with a 31.9% share, followed by Seven with 22.2%, ABC with 20.8% and Ten with 16.6%.
The top-rated primary channel on Sunday was Nine with a 26.3% share, but the top-rated multichannel was 10 Peach with 2.4%.
Today marks the beginning of the TV rating period in 2023. In the last week of summer TV, as mentioned, Nine won the overall share with 30.9%, followed by Seven with 26.4%, ABC with 18.2% and Ten with 15.6%. The week’s top-rated primary channel was Nine with a 23.4% share.
In the latest Daily Consolidated 7 Total TV Report for 5 February, Married at First Sight on Nine last Sunday was the #1 program nationally with 1.806 million Total TV viewers, including 527,000 on BVOD and the biggest uplift of 64%.
