Blue 449 restructures strategy team

Blue 449 has unveiled two new appointments and two promotions as its restructures its strategy team after two departures.

Julian Frundt joins as senior strategist and Max Broer returns to the Sydney based media agency from UM, joining as strategy director, meanwhile Josef Charlesworth and Elliott Eldridge have been promoted to business strategist and senior strategist respectively.

The appointments follow the departure of former brand strategy and partnerships manager Rebecca Alexander, who is now context director at Bohemia Group, and Jacqui Capel, the agency’s strategy director who is on maternity leave.

Frundt joins the company after a year as a planner at Iris Sydney, while Broer returns after a year with UM.

Broer is a multiple Cannes Young Lion finalist and is an advertising lecturer at UTS.

Charlesworth, who was previously an associate performance director at Blue 449, takes on his new role after five months while Eldridge, who joined the company as client manager, moves to his new role after six months.

Zara Cobb, head of strategy and planning said the new team was designed to help answer clients’ business problems which now range form MarTech, to artificial intelligence and virtual reality.

“Joe and Elliott have two unique skill sets that add a depth of thinking I know our clients will find useful. Joe brings with him a unique point of view on the holistic digital landscape both now and into the future as well as extensive experience around MarTech and its uses,” Cobb said.

“Elliott has a passion for media that is infectious and he will be leading the adoption of media firsts, beta tests and new to market opportunities in collaboration with our client planners.

Commenting on Frundt’s appointment, she added: “Julian is joining us as a progressive creative thinker and will focus on helping our clients build and understand how creative message, media and platform fit together in order to maximise results.

“As for Max, well I couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Max back to the Blue family and to lead the strategic product and team with me. Max is a unique, data led strategy director who I know will help take our strategic product into new and more impactful spaces.”

Blue 449’s clients include HCF, TAL, RAMS and Royal Caribbean Cruises.
