BMW Group and Ogilvy Australia split after more than 20 years

Car manufacturer BMW has parted ways with its long-term Australian creative agency of record, Ogilvy, after more than 20 years.

A spokesperson from Ogilvy Australia, said in a statement to Mumbrella: “BMW Group Australia and Ogilvy Australia have reached the end of their current contract. Both parties have mutually agreed not to extend beyond the current contracted period.”

Ogilvy and BMW Group will not be renewing their long-term partnership.

In December 2014, Ogilvy retained the creative account for BMW Group Australia following a competitive pitch.

Ogilvy has a long history of working with BMW having been appointed to work on the business more than 20 years ago.

The scope of work Ogilvy conducted for BMW Group included above the line, below the line, digital and point of sale for both the BMW and MINI brands and their dealer network.

In October last year Vizeum retained BMW Group’s media account after a six month closed pitch.
