Former M&C Saatchi GM Mim Haysom joins Suncorp as executive GM brand and marketing
Former M&C Saatchi general manager, Mim Haysom, is to become executive general manager of brand and marketing at Suncorp, Mumbrella can reveal.
The news of Haysom’s appointment comes as Kristi Woolrych, Suncorp’s former EGM of brand and marketing, has decided to depart the business after 16 years with the insurer.
Haysom departed M&C Saatchi in November last year after three years with agency and will now oversee Suncorp’s network of brands which includes AAMI, GIO, Apia, Shannons and Vero.
The appointment comes weeks after Suncorp’s former group executive for customer, data and marketing and chief experience officer, Mark Reinke exited the insurance giant.
As part of her new role Haysom will be responsible for strengthening the Suncorp brand nationally and bolstering the brand’s digital marketing and automation abilities.
Pip Marlow, Suncorp’s CEO of customer marketplace, said in a statement to Mumbrella: “Mim is known for her cut-through creative and for her drive to find way news to move the industry forward – we’re lucky to have her.
“She understands our market, and one of her key focus areas will be to take Suncorp’s network of brands to the next level.”
In June last year Suncorp also saw, Michael Branagh, its head of brand planning and digital depart to join Tourism and Events Queensland.
Meanwhile in March last year Suncorp recruited Publicis Groupe to create a bespoke agency for the insurer, consolidating its creative and media agency arrangements with group.
Just last month the brand released its brand campaign ‘Money with Sunny’ which mimics Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ Thrift Shop music video.
Since then the insurer has released a series of ads which fall under the same ‘Money with Sunny’ brand positioning.
A huge win for Suncorp. Great stuff Mim!

Something is not right here. Why are all the big gun marketing people leaving the business. Sad to see these amazing operators go. Massive shoes to fill…. good luck
