Mediacom hangs on to UPI

WPP media agency MediaCom has retained client Universal as part of a global pitch.  

The announcement:

MediaCom have retained the Universal Pictures International (UPI) and Universal Pictures Video (UPV) in a competitive pitch against Starcom and phd. MediaCom Australia was an active participant in the global review process and is a top five market for Universal.

The decision to consolidate media agencies was made in order to streamline the way the companies conduct business following the acquisition of Universal from GE by Comcast. Universal have been responsible for multiple box office hits this year with releases including; Hop, Fast Five and the hugely successful Bridesmaids.
