WhiteGrey Melbourne’s MD Claudia McInerney resigns
Melbourne managing director at WPP-owned creative agency White Grey Claudia McInerney has resigned, Mumbrella can reveal.
McInerney has been with the agency for more than a decade, joining the creative agency as an account director when it was formerly known as Grey Australia.
In a statement to Mumbrella WPP AUNZ said McInerney is resigning to relocate to Sydney for family reasons.
“While we are genuinely sad to farewell Claudia, we understand her reasons and wish her all the very best for the future. Claudia has made an incredible contribution to the business and I would like to thank her for her dedication and all that she has contributed to WhiteGrey.
“Claudia will remain as managing director until the end of the year and during this time will be working with clients and the agency team to ensure a seamless transition period,” Lee Simpson, CEO at WhiteGrey said in a statement to Mumbrella.
In March last year WPP merged two of its creative agencies, The White Agency and Grey Group Australia, to form WhiteGrey.
At the time of the merger, McInerney was the Melbourne managing director at Grey Group Australia.
Since the merger of WhiteGrey its joint CEOs Miles Joyce and Paul Worboys have departed.
WhiteGrey later announced its new CEO, Lee Simpson, who joined the agency from M&C Saatchi where he was a managing partner.
McInerney’s departure comes eight months after Andrew Davenport departed as the managing director of WhiteGrey Sydney. WhiteGrey has not yet announced Davenport’s replacement.
However, since then the agency has made a raft of appointments and promotions with the agency appointing Nathan Rogers as head of strategy, Juan Garcia as head of technology.
WhiteGrey also promoted James Keeler to chief strategy and customer experience officer.

Loved working with Claudia in the past – a great managing director, and a decent person too.
