Clems wins consolidated tax office account
Clemenger BBDO Melbourne has won the consolidated advertising account for the Australian Tax Office.

In a significant change to the way the Australian Taxation Office conducts its communications, Clemenger BBDO Melbourne has been appointed as the single agency of record for the total ATO account.
The win is a major shift for the Office – previously, contracts were awarded on a campaign-by-campaign basis, shared between a roster of agencies. For the first time, the ATO is appointing a single agency for all its communication needs.
Clemenger BBDO Melbourne executive director, Tim McColl Jones, says that the contract allows the ATO to create long-term plans and run cohesive, integrated communications.
“The ATO is embarking on a new, long-term approach to its communications needs and it’s exciting to be the key strategic and creative partner on this journey in the years ahead,” McColl Jones said.
Given the significance of the appointment, the pitch process was conducted over a four-month period and ended up being between a shortlist of eight agencies.
The initial contract term starts immediately and runs until 2016.
