Radio Ratings: Mix101.1’s breakfast takes FM ratings crown from Triple M in Melbourne

Mix101.1’s breakfast with Chrissie and Jane has wrested the FM breakfast crown from Triple M’s team of Eddie McGuire, Mick Molloy and Luke Darcy in Melbourne, with the station grabbing an audience share of 7.5 per cent, an increase of 0.9 share points while Triple M’s share of 7.1 per cent saw a decline of 0.3.

The Australian Radio Network’s Gold was the third most popular FM breakfast show sitting on an audience share of 6.9 per cent, while FoxFM’s breakfast duo of Fifi Box and Dave Thornton continues to decline with a share of 6.6 per cent, down from last ratings period of 7.2 per centIn the first ratings period of 2014, the show had a share of 7.9 per cent.

Overall, Gold held onto its number one FM station position in Melbourne, staying static with the audience share of 8.8 per cent it achieved in the last ratings period.

FoxFM, Triple M, Nova 100 and SmoothFM 91.5 all tied for second most popular FM station Monday to Sunday, with an audience share of 6.9 per cent, according to numbers from GfK.

The Monday to Friday data pushes FoxFM into third place with a share of 6.9 per cent while Triple M, Nova 100 and SmoothFM sit in second place tied on a 7 per cent audience share.

In drive, Nova Entertainment’s national syndicated program with Kate, Tim and Marty continues to hold onto its FM ratings despite a decline of 1.1 share points to an audience share of 8.4 per cent.

Its closest rival FoxFM’s drive show with Dan and Maz also experienced declines, moving from an audience share of 8.9 per cent to 8.2 per cent.

Gold’s Drive with Gavin Miller was third best rating FM drive show with an audience share of 7.9 per cent, a decline of 0.3 share points from the last ratings period while Mix101.1′s national syndicated show with Tim ‘Rosso’ Ross held onto its audience share of 7.5 per cent, neither gaining or losing any share.

In the AM market, 3AW reclaimed its top position after ABC774 pushed it from the top ranking in the last ratings period. 3AW grabbed a share of 12.5 per cent, an increase of 1.2 share points while ABC774 sits just behind on a share of 12.3 per cnet, an increase of 0.6 share points.

3AW continues to hold onto its AM breakfast ratings crown with a share of 17.3 per cent, an increase of 1 share point while ABC774  had a share of 16 per cent.

In the drive timeslot, 3AW saw its audience share increase by 1.2 sharepoints to tie with ABC774, with both programs sitting on an audience share of 10.2 per cent.
