Ten reveals launch dates for Australian Survivor, Russell Coight and Street Smart

Ten’s Australian Survivor: Champions vs Contenderes, Russell Coight’s All Aussie Adventures and Street Smart are all to appear on Australian screens within three weeks.

This morning Ten announced all three programs, which were announced at Ten’s upfronts last year, will commence from August.

Russell Coight will return to Australian screens on August 5

Australian Survivor: Champions vs Contenders will commence on Wednesday August 1, with sponsors including Holden, BCF, Kellogg’s and Parmalat.

Some of the champions include Rugby legend, Mat Rogers, AFL Women’s League player Moana Hope and Olympic swimmer Shane Gould.

Holden’s sponsorship now extends across broadcast, Tenplay, and official Survivor social channels. Tenplay viewers will also have the chance to win a Holden Commodore Tourer.

Network Ten’s executive general manager of revenue, clients and partnerships, Rod Prosser, said: “The Survivor franchise both here and internationally has always been a hit with audiences, and this year’s Champions v Contenders theme brings an additional element of excitement to the mix.

“It’s great to have Holden back for a third straight year taking advantage of creative and high-impact integration opportunities across the show.

“To have first-time sponsors BCF, Kellogg’s and Parmalat come along for the ride shows the belief the market has in the franchise and its ability to engage and excite.”

At the same time, Ten has announced an all new Sunday lineup, with Russell Coight’ All Aussie Adventures returning to Australian screens from 7:30pm on August 5. The show will be followed by new comedy series, Street Smart.

All Aussie Adventures first screened on Ten in 2001 and ran for two seasons. Produced by Big Crack Productions, the show is a mockumentary which pokes fun at the travel genre, and stars comedian Glenn Robbins.

Coight said of the launch: “Can you believe that it is over 10 years since I was last on TV (unless you count news footage of me leaving court). So strap yourself in for another sun-drenched series of outback adventures – All Aussie style.”

Street Smart, which is from the co-creators of Here Come The Habibs, follows the lives of would be criminals who fail consistently. It stars Tahir Bilgic and Casey Donovan.

Prosser said he was looking forward to bringing the new Sunday line up to Australian screens.

“It’s funny, family-friendly and light-hearted. The return of All Aussie Adventures I’m sure will bring nostalgia for older audiences and enjoyment for new audiences,” Prosser said.

“Street Smart compares to nothing before. Its diverse cast and slapstick humour offers something the whole family can enjoy. This line-up continues our strategy of delivering brand-safe environments through premium, first-run domestic content that appeals to family audiences.”
