Before starting at Max Media Lab in March, Swayn was general manager of Zenith Sydney, a role she held for nine months after being promoted from group business director.

Swayn moved to Zenith in November 2015 from OMD, where she was promoted to global business director from account director. At UM, Swayn’s clients will include Neutrogena, Aveeno, Codral and Nicorette, as well as Meat and Livestock Australia and AMP.

“Angela has a very strong reputation in market and was visible to us prior to our group director opportunity becoming available,” said UM’s Sydney general manager Sophie Bingham.

“She has the talent and experience to bring a high-quality of media counsel to our clients and drive real business outcomes supported by her team“

At the time of her appointment at Max Media Lab, Swayn emphasised the opportunity to join a boutique agency, “moving from a multi-national media agency”. Of her return to a multinational media agency in UM, Swayn said: “UM is such an industry leader and has recorded so much success of late, I am delighted to be joining the business.

“Especially at a time of such rapid, yet exciting change in the industry, I am really looking forward to leading and contributing to our clients and UM overall.”

In the past year, UM has retained the Coca-Cola and Kmart accounts, and won Maserati, American Express globallyHeineken, and Mattel globally. The agency promoted Bingham to general manager of the Sydney office in June, and Tobias Young to the newly-created role as head of next in May.
