The agency will also be responsible for media relations, content, influencer and experiential.

Joe Satari, head of consumer communications at Deliveroo Australia, said: “We were impressed by Alt/Shift’s calibre of creative and strategic thinking. This, combined with their innate knowledge of the Sydney market and understanding of our brand made them the winning team.

“As the food delivery industry grows and evolves, Deliveroo is committed to delivering a great foodie experience to Australians, and will continue to source the best restaurants and provide the best service to customers.”

General manager of Alt/Shift Sydney, Andie Crawford, said: “We’re thrilled to have been appointed as the public relations agency for Deliveroo – the brand is a fantastic addition to the Alt/Shift family. We’re looking forward to working with the Roo team on big, creative campaigns that are certain to shake up the online food delivery market. Shifting the dial for a client is what we do best.”

Last year saw a shake up in Deliveroo’s marketing, starting with the appointment of Jeremy Brook as head of marketing in April. In September, Initiative won the media and communications account and in December Hyland was awarded the creative.

Alt/Shift has also won the PR accounts for Sydney’s Queen Victoria Building and Whitley Neill Gin last year. It also works with Crown Resorts, Mazda Australia, Lion Dairy and Drinks, Origin Energy and YMCA.
