Aussie Farmers Direct and Gocatch offer tractor ride through Sydney CBD

Aussies Farmers Direct and Gocatch have teamed up as part of a new initiative, giving consumers the chance to drive around Sydney CBD in a tractor.

The announcement:

Amidst the usual hubbub of Sydney traffic tomorrow, commuters will have the opportunity to get a free ride through the CBD on a tractor.

National online fresh food retailer Aussie Farmers Direct has partnered with leading nation-wide taxi booking platform GoCatch to offer commuters the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to ride in a tractor through the Sydney CBD.

Eligible customers[i] wanting to take part in this experience need to register their interest at http://tinyurl.com/afdgc-ride.

Aussie Farmers Direct will also be giving away fresh fruit and lunchboxes to passengers and passersby to promote its online range of fresh, 100 per cent Australian produce.

The stunt forms part of a broader brand campaign recently launched by Aussie Farmers Direct that uses a healthy dose of Aussie humour to show families can take of their food shopping, while also taking care of Australian farmers.

The new campaign includes a series of TVCs featuring a mum and dad’s bumbling attempts at being urban farmers, much to the embarrassment of their tech-savvy kids. While the parents struggle to train the family pooch as a sheepdog, take their tractor on the school pick-up run and tend to a forlorn veggie garden, their children are saving the day by ordering farm-fresh meals online from Aussie Farmers Direct.

According to Peter Bakker, Marketing Director at Aussie Farmers Direct, the partnership with GoCatch was an opportunity to generate broader interest in the brand, while at the same time reinforcing the company’s strong ties to the local farming community.

“One of the last things you’d expect to see on bustling Sydney streets is a bright green tractor rumbling around, and we’re counting on that to drive engagement with the Aussie Farmers Direct brand.

“Partnering with GoCatch was a natural fit given the proud Australian heritage of both companies. There are strong synergies between our two brands, with both being disruptive businesses that are taking on the big guys, offering customers an innovative and distinctly Australian solution,” he said.

GoCatch CEO David Holmes says, “We are always proud to partner with leading local brands to bring something fun and different to our customers. We are focused on delivering a uniquely Australian experience and this is a small nod to farmers around the country who share our commitment to quality.
