Walking with Dinosaurs comes to NSW

Tomorrow morning, the NSW Government, Animal Logic and BBC Worldwide will announce “a major international blockbuster to be produced in Sydney”.

Considering that Animal Logic has been recruiting for animators since last month, the announcement is likely to be that the company has secured work on the U$65m film adaptation of the BBC television series Walking With Dinosaurs.

At last year’s American Film Market, Twentieth Century Fox acquired the distribution rights for a 3D CG/live-action film Walking With Dinosaurs, written by Sydney-based John Colle and based on the documentary mini-series made in 1999.

The film will combine live-action footage of scenery and CGI creatures. It will be co-directed by Neil Nightingale, Creative Director BBC Earth, and Pierre De Lespinois, Co-Founder Evergreen Films
