Dr Mumbo may not be the best mathematician in Australia, or indeed his household, but even he can do the maths on how many times a year a half-yearly sale should take place.
And by the time Harvey Norman’s sale ad had aired for the millionth time during the cricket, something began to seem amiss – and it wasn;t just the fact that the voiceover seemed to have been recorded in a toilet.
And – no, Harvey Norman, no – a half yearly sale it isn’t once a year.

Dr Mumbo it’s really very simple when you consider we talk financial year. Half way through the financial year of July 1 to June 30 is considered Half Yearly Clearance as it’s halfway through the financial year. The dates for this are generally from 26 December onwards. Hope that helped!
