Stockland asks Australians to ‘Share Some Unexpected Joy’ over Christmas

Property and shopping centre group Stockland has encouraged Australians to ‘Share Some Unexpected Joy’ by inviting those who may be spending Christmas alone to the dinner table.

The campaign created by Lavender shares the story of Lucy, a young girl who recognises some of her neighbours will be spending Christmas alone, so she creates invitations to invite them all over to her house for a Christmas dinner.

Running across social, digital, print and radio, the campaign is based off an insight finding more than 500,000 Australians are expected to spend Christmas alone this year.

Ben Allen, general manager at Stockland, said in a statement: “We hope this heart-warming campaign will bring to the fore the importance of connecting with others at this time of year and encourage our customers to share some unexpected joy in their own life, no matter how small.”

Stockland has also designed and printed 50,000 invitations for people to invite their friends and neighbours who may be spending the holiday alone.
