Aussie producer streams premiere of Occupy Wall Street doco
A film about the media coverage of the Occupy Wall Street movement by an Australian producer has had its world premiere online this morning.
The film #whilewewatch by Australian producer Mike Vanderfield was broadcast on SnagFilms from the Paley Center for Media in New York City this morning Australian time, last night New York time.
Produced by Vanderfield’s production company 8com’s documentary arm 8 Docos, and directed by Kevin Breslin, #whilewewatch documents how the protesters of the Occupy Wall Street movement used social media to spread their message in the face of lagging mainstream media to explain what was happening at the centre of Zuccotti Park, the protest’s ground zero.
Vanderfield said: “We hope #whilewewatch becomes an educational tool as well as documenting a piece of American history.”
Stephanie Sharis, Snag Films COO said: “The whole world will literally be able to watch #whilewewatch together – what better way to launch a film about the revolutionary power and influence of social media.”
The Occupy Movement is NECESSARY for our citizens to expose the corruption which Big Business has infected our Government with. Every single person occupying the streets and protesting Corporations is a hero and a patriot. I was compelled to lend a hand and create some new posters for the movement which you can download for free on my artist’s blog at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.....ement.html

Money Men; so what if he’s biting the hand that feeds him? Far better to feed and fight than become fat and apathetic. Trailer looks great. Good on you 8 Docos.
