Real Cider, wouldn’t your cider recipe make 100% Apple Juice?

I see what you did there. I should have said that its made from 100% apple juice that has been fermented with yeast (wild or sometimes added). It should be free from concentrate, gluten, added sugar and grapes.

There’s a bizarre loophole in excise law that wines made from fruit which have greater than 8% alcohol are exempt from excise. But apples won’t ferment that high. Hence this a mixture.

@john Apples can ferment to about 12% is done right. 9% normal for a Methode Traditionalle ( champagne style) But Grape Tree is 100% Grape based no apples in sight. Their web site says
“We have released a refreshing new beverage made from 100% grapes”
The word “Cider” is only used to use ride on the popularity cider is enjoying. Seems like it will intentionally confuse consumers
